The staff and directors of the Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition would like to extend our deepest gratitude to you for your support over the past six years. Since 2004 we’ve had the great honour to stand confidently on your behalf and work collectively toward a dynamic conservation vision.

As for 2008/2009… the proudest accomplishments, brightest moments and most outrageous stories are best told around the fire, but we thought we’d include a few outstanding accomplishments here since so much has happened in such a short time. They include:

  • Identifying undocumented salmon spawning and rearing habitat in the Skeena headwaters
  • Successful YOW program
  • Providing critical support for legal, conservation policy and traditional use projects
  • Keeping the Sacred Headwaters free of coalbed methane development – Moratorium implemented
  • Facilitating education and outreach programs from Vancouver Island to Terrace
  • Headlining CBM concerns in media around the world, including; the London Financial Times, Globe and Mail, BCTV, CBC and many more
  • Completing the Skeena Swim!

For 2010, SWCC’s long term vision remains committed to a sustainable economy and healthy cultures rooted in our thriving salmon watershed. A few of our main objectives include: large, collaborative and effective enhancements to the Sacred Headwaters Campaign, creating a Skeena Watershed school curriculum based on conservation and introducing new field courses for youth and adults.

All donations will directly benefit our watershed by supporting one of our main programs for 2010. THANK YOU, your support and dedication to the Skeena is what keeps us inspired and will keep our rivers thriving for generations to come!

Warmest regards,

The Skeena Watershed Conservation Coalition Crew
